Seared Brussels Sprouts
Let's Get Searing
- Wash and chop the Brussels sprouts in half
- Toss into a non-stick pan with a small amount of water (I keep a water bottle nearby to add squirts as needed)
- Steam these for about 3 minutes on medium-high, with a lid on (this softens them up)
- Then remove the lid and let remaining water cook off is there is some
- Add 2 Tablespoon of butter
- Toss them around in the butter when it melts
- Now hit them with Cajun powder, salt and black pepper
- Sear them until they blackish on the outside, like the picture above
- Serve with a dipping sauce if this is an appetizer
- Otherwise it makes a great side dish
